IntroductionThe Section of Plastic Surgery has completed a highly successful year in both clinical and basic science research. Extramural funding now exists for projects varying from basic aspects of wound healing, bone remodeling with craniofacial development, outcomes studies following breast reconstruction, clinical investigation of growth factors in wound healing, and the use of telemedicine for patient care in the future. The diversity of interests and projects reflects the faculty's enthusiasm and interest in the development and understanding of both basic biological techniques, as well as providing technological advances in the future. |
