Undergraduate: Brown University Medical School: Vanderbilt University Academic Development: Endothelial progenitor cells in neovascularization Dr. Vaikunth investigated the role of Endothelial Progenitor Cells (EPCs) in neovascularization. Dr. Vaikunth's hypothesis is that EPCs are important to neovascularization. Dr. Vaikunth's lab looked at the role of EPCs in a murine wound healing and skin graft model in relation to vasculogenesis and angiogenesis.
