Academic Development: Stem Cell Therapies

Dr. Harting investigated the use of adult stem cell therapies to treat traumatic brain injury (TBI). His lab conducted both preclinical studies using various stem cells types (mesenchymal stromal cells, multipotent adult progenitor cells, mononuclear cells, and neural stem cells) in rodent models of TBI, as well as a phase I clinical trial investigating autologous bone marrow-derived stem cell therapy for TBI in children.
