biography

Alicia I. Growney, M.D., is a Clinical Lecturer in the Division of Surgical Oncology, Section of General Surgery. Dr. Growney completed her B.S. in biology at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign in 1996. She went on to receive her medical degree from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago, Illinois in 2001. She did her first two years of general surgery training at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center as well as a 2-year research fellowship in surgical oncology. She completed her training in general surgery at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in 2008 where she served as the administrative chief resident. She is the current Breast Surgery Fellow at the University of Michigan Comprehensive Cancer Center's Breast Care Clinic.

Dr. Growney's clinical interests are in breast care and surgical diseases of the breast. Her clinical and academic interests include the management of benign and malignant breast disease as well as medical education.
