

![]() Colorectal SurgeryThe Division of Colorectal Surgery at the University of Michigan provides procedures, diagnosis and treatment for all diseases of the colon, rectum and anal area including cancer and inflammatory bowel disease, hemorrhoids and fistulas. Included in the scope of colorectal practice are lower GI endoscopy/polypectomy, and diagnostic studies of pelvic floor function, including EMG, defecography, anal sphincter, manometry and transrectal ultrasound. Basic science investigation includes RAGE (Receptor for Advanced Glycation Endoproducts) and tumor biology, and the relationship between colitis and neoplasia.
